Ronald "Ron" Gillespie graduated from Appalachian
State University in Boone, NC with a Bachelor's degree in
Creative Writing. He also has an Associates in Computer
Networking from Saint Petersburg College in St.
Petersburg, FL. During his undergrad, he held jobs as a
freelance writer for two newspapers, The Mountain
Times, a community newspaper, and the university
newspaper, The Appalachian. He also minored in
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
(TESOL) and briefly taught English in Tokyo, Japan
between November 2001 – May 2002. While occasionally
churning out short stories he has always said that he will
"some day finish that novel". Outside of writing, Ron is a
professional martial artist with over 30 years experience.
He is currently on the board of directors for the
International Neoclassical Karate Kobudo Society
(INKKS). He is also a hobbyist musician, proficient at
guitar, bass, and drums. Ron has written and recorded
several songs, albeit very badly, which hopefully will
never see the light of day!
